Dr. James Bolton, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry
Dr. James Bolton is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Psychiatry. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his residency training in Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba. He is a board member of the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP). He has published studies on suicide risk factors in several international psychiatric journals. Recently he was awarded a Manitoba Health Research Council operating grant to study risk and protective factors in suicide. Additional research interests include pharmacoepidemiology and the epidemiology of mood and anxiety disorders. His clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatry in the Mood Disorders Program at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
