MISSION STATEMENT

The causes of suicide, especially on First Nations reserves, are complex. Through on-going guidance from community representatives of the Swampy Cree Tribal Council, we aim to develop an increased understanding of the causes of suicide. We also aim to utilize large surveys to examine the risk factors of suicide among Aboriginal populations. Through a systematic review of all suicide prevention strategies with community members and international experts, we will advance the understanding of specific suicide prevention strategies that are most likely to be effective on First Nations reserves.
